Changes made to this copy must be initialed and dated by the faculty advisor.

All required coursework must be successfully completed as an eligibility requirement for student teaching. Undergraduate students must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.75. MAT students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on graduate coursework. Post-Bac students must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.75.

Student is expected to successfully complete all required course work prior to the student teaching semester. Once this student has met all eligibility requirements for student teaching, including successful completion of the courses listed on this application, he/she is recommended to student teach.

Print a copy of this application before clicking the “Submit” button. Once the on-line application has been submitted, it cannot be resubmitted.  While the on-line application will be submitted without signatures, the copy of the application which the student prints must be signed by the student and the student’s TWU faculty advisor. Therefore, the student must schedule an appointment with his/her TWU faculty advisor as soon as possible. All students are required to attend one of the Student Teaching Enrollment Meetings held one semester (fall or spring) prior to the student teaching semester. The meetings are held during the first or second week in February and September. Students should visit the Professional Development website, www.twu.edu/professional-development-center/, to determine the specific meeting dates, times, and locations of the enrollment meetings, as well as to determine the deadline to submit the Student Teaching Application. Students must turn in the copy of this application, with the student’s and TWU faculty advisor’s signatures along with all required paperwork listed on the "Application Instructions" found on the above website.
